Rückblick auf DrVetion BT20 all terain electic bike

My experience with the DRVetion BT-20

On the website, the bike is advertised as 250W, unlockable to 1000W. Unfortunately, this is completely inaccurate, as the power cannot be limited, instead only the speed can. Furthermore, the bike is equipped with a throttle and arrives with it mounted and activated.
The bike is NOT LEGAL in ITALY.
I decided to keep the bike anyway, limiting the speed and disabling the throttle. It’s also possible to remove the throttle entirely, but the bike remains ILLEGAL as the motor exceeds 250W.
On the other hand, it’s not common practice for the police to stop an e-bike for checks. Problems arise in the event of an accident.

Unfortunately, I found the bike’s display to be completely UNREADABLE in bright light. You don’t need to be in direct sunlight, just plain daylight. From any angle, the display, set to maximum brightness, is almost always completely unreadable.
Convinced it was faulty, I contacted customer service and sent them two videos clearly showing the display being unreadable. They refused to cooperate. Eventually, they told me I could buy a new screen.

Now there are only two possibilities.
- The first is that they’re selling a bike with an unreadable display, and this is unacceptable because using the display is essential when using an e-bike, just think of the level of assistance.
- The second is that customer service refuses to offer after-sales support, and this is even more unacceptable for a product like this.

The bike also has another problem: if it goes up a hill, the battery level drops dramatically by 20-30%. I imagine this is due to the 1000W power, which can’t be reduced even when this possibility is advertised.

I also admit that the bike is solid and well-made, but given the problems I encountered, I can’t recommend it.

Sul sito la bici è pubblicizzata come 250W sbloccabile a 1000W. Purtroppo questa indicazione è del tutto inesatta in quanto non può essere limitata la potenza ma invece solo la velocità. Inoltre la bici è dotata di acceleratore e arriva con quest’ultimo montato e attivato.
In ITALIA la bici NON E’ LEGALE.
Ho deciso di tenere lo stesso la bici limitando la velocità e disattivando l’acceleratore. E’ anche possibile rimuovere del tutto l’acceleratore ma la bici resta ILLEGALE in quanto il motore è di potenza superiore a 250W.
D’altro canto non è pratica usuale, da parte della polizia, fermare una ebike per controlli. I problemi nascono in caso di incidente.

Purtroppo ho riscontrato che il display della bici è completamente ILLEGGIBILE se c’è luce. Non serve essere sotto la luce diretta del sole in controluce, basta che ci sia la luce del giorno e da qualunque angolazione il display, impostato alla sua massima luminosità, è quasi sempre del tutto illeggibile.
Convinto che fosse guasto ho scritto al servizio clienti a cui ho inviato ben due video dove si evince chiaramente che il display è illeggibile e si sono rifiutati di collaborare. Alla fine mi hanno detto che posso comprare un nuovo schermo.

Ora le possibilità sono solo due.
- La prima è che vendono una bici con un display illeggibile e questo è inaccettabile perché l’uso del display è fondamentale durante l’uso di una ebike, basta pensare al livello di assistenza.
- La seconda è che il servizio clienti nega l’assistenza post vendita e questo è ancora più inaccettabile per un prodotto del genere.

La bici ha anche un altro problema: se affronta una salita il livello della batteria cala drasticamente del 20-30% e immagino che questo sia dovuto alla potenza di 1000W che non è riducibile quando però è pubblicizzata diversamente.

Ammetto anche che la bici è solida e ben realizzata ma alla luce dei problemi riscontrati non posso consigliarne l’acquisto.
